Residents Flee As Monkeys Invade Lagos Community - Umahiprinceblog

Hundreds of monkeys have invaded Soluyi/Sosanya Community in Gbagada, Lagos State as residents now flee from the apes attack.

The Chairman of the community’s Landlord Association, Mr Adigun Olaleye, said that the monkeys had turned the community to their new habitat and that the residents could not curtail them.

He said that the animals were very destructive as he called on the state Government to come to their aid.

“We cannot withstand the situation anymore. The animals forced their ways into our rooms, destroyed windows and door nets, food stuffs and other items.

He said that the invasion might have resulted from the nearness of the community to a swamp forest that separated the community from Ifako area.

According to the residents, the invasion had been for a long period but it is becoming unbearable now.
