A 35 years old married man Mr Kaduna Enatini was arrested this afternoon by the vigilantes for alleged theft of pot of soup, 7 wraps of fufu and a half basin of garri flour. The event took place at Yenagoa Local Government Area of Beyelsa State.
The head of the vigilance committee, Chief moneysweet Asomo, said they were on patrol at about 2am on Thursday when they caught Enatini doing justices to the food items and the soup. The suspect confessed to the crime and said the food belong to Akwa Ibom woman popularly known as madam blessing. he also added that hunger and economic hardship made him to steal the food items and pot of soup.
The Ruler of the community order them to parade the suspect and let him go since his defense was that it was hunger and hardship that made him to steal the items.
